1981
Late January/Early February: Born Lorna Hansen to parents Erin and Magnus Hansen, South Africa; born with green hair.

William and Elizabeth Dane
February 16: A plane crash claims the life of Lorna’s parents; unclear how Lorna survives. It is determined she is approximately two weeks old, she is given to her only living relatives, Erin’s older sister Elizabeth and her husband William Dane. The couple legally adopt Lorna and raise her as their own daughter. Throughout the first few years of her life, the Danes have Lorna tested to determine the origin of her odd hair color and affinity for the Earth’s poles. Specialists discover genetic abnormalities but are unable to determine anything specific. So that she can grow up as normally as possible the Danes decide to dye Lorna’s hair brown; she continues to see geneticists regularly until she is an adult.

With X-Factor, Lorna becomes a major spokeperson for the Mutant Community. Additionally, X-Factor do a great deal of work with Genosha. The stress of the job, as well as concerns about the team, conspire to keep Alex and Lorna's relationship rocky and Lorna calls it off, though she remains with the team. Lorna begins therapy with first Dr. Leonard Sampson and then Beverly Tyler, LCSW.
While on Genosha, Alex is attacked and presumed dead. Only Lorna believes he is alive and she remains on Genosha. She is reunited with Magneto and spends her time studying her powers, which she has never gained real control over. Lorna is on Genosha when a coordinated Sentinel attack occurs and the population is nearly wiped out. Magneto is missing and presumed dead; Lorna survives but is severely traumatized by the event.
Alex is found alive and an overjoyed Lorna impulsively asks him to marry her. He never accepts.
Lorna, unhinged by the events on Genosha, is responsible for the deaths of five members of the Church/Friends of Humanity. She acts out in many ways and is convinced she is Magneto's daughter despite lack of any real evidence. When Alex calls off their wedding at the last minute Lorna loses control of her emotions and her magnetic abilities and attacks Alex and the woman he claims to love in her place.

Lorna's and Alex's Aborted Wedding
Her rampage is halted by Juggernaut and she enters into telepathic therapy with Charles Xavier. At the urging of Xavier and her clinical therapist Beverly Tyler, Lorna is put on antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications. Ashamed, Lorna stops speaking to the couple who raised her. She begins dating Bobby.

Lorna Dane, Magneto's Daughter
Obtaining a blood sample from Erik Magnus Lensherr, Lorna proves she is his biological daughter and informs his two older children, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Lorna publicly acknowledges Lensherr as her father.

Lorna with half-sister, Wanda
When her older half-sister Wanda recreates the world in Magneto's image, Lorna is a favored child. When the alternate reality is dissolved, Lorna retains all her memory of that life. However, her mutation becomes suppressed once again. Lorna determines she must leave the Institute as she is no longer a mutant. Concerned, Alex goes with her when she leaves. The two fall back into their comfortable relationship, though Lorna is distraught by her loss and her experiences with Magneto and the twins. While away from the mansion, Lorna is kidnapped by Apocalypse and convinced to join him in exchange for nanotechnology which simulates her lost mutation. Unable to continue acting as one of Apocalypse's minions, Lorna returns to the X-Men where she enters psychic therapy with Emma Frost. Lorna officially ends her relationship with Bobby and returns to Alex. Believing she is a failure to the team, once she has regained some control over her magnetic powers (enhanced by Apocalypse), Lorna leaves and Alex goes with her.

Lorna and Alex at Disney World
The Brotherhood commence renewed attacks on Mutant Hate Groups and Lorna breaks all ties with her father. She intends to join SHIELD full time and embarks on a mission to infiltrate the Brotherhood and end Magneto's attacks once and for all. With a wedding to plan, Lorna happily reconnects with the Danes. However, she becomes distracted by the continued stresses of her and Alex's families. Upset by all the in-fighting the couple choose to elope.

Lorna and Alex Elope
While visiting their niece before embarking on a honeymoon the three are kidnapped. Alex is badly injured. Distraught and angry, Lorna resigns from SHIELD.
A bit unhinged by the events in Atlanta and confused about her identity beyond the labels she's been given (Polaris of the X-Men, Magneto's Daughter, Scott's Brother's Wife, etc.) Lorna decides to make changes in her life. She leaves the X-Men and accepts a position with Wayne Biotech (Wayne Enterprises) in New York. Her relationships to her oldest friends become strained and she becomes attached to new friends. Alex finds himself being ignored and pushed aside.

Lorna and Bruce
Lorna becomes caught up in her flirtation with Bruce Wayne and starts to fall for him. They flirt with having an affair, Alex uncovers the truth and runs away to Hawaii. Angry and confused, Lorna acts on her feelings for Bruce and begins a sexual relationship with him.
Alex returns from Hawaii and confronts Lorna about Bruce. Unable to reconcile her actions with her feelings Lorna admits her affair and breaks up with Alex. She throws herself into her new relationship with Bruce. Alex has the marriage annulled.
Bruce meets a young member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants, Sally Blevins, and convinces her to leave the organization. Enlisting the help of Jean Grey he extracts Sally and she temporarily moves in with him. Lorna follows suit to look after the girl and protect both from possible retaliation from her father. Although jealous of the girl, Lorna empathizes with her situation and befriends her.
Sally's gift to Lorna
The Brotherhood retaliate against Bruce's interference with Sally, attacking a wing of Gotham General funded by the Thomas Wayne Foundation. Disgusted with the organization Lorna deterines to draw the line at spending any time socilaizing with its members. This, and her new attachment to Sally, puts a strain on some friendships and she finds herself once again in the middle of feuding friends. Despite his at times dismissive attitude toward their relationship, Lorna feels secure that Bruce shares her ideals and has her best interests at heart.
Lorna and Bruce
2008
Lorna's father's health takes a turn for the worse. With some gentle prodding, she leaves work, school and friends behind to move in with her parents for a short time.
While in Paris with her family, Lorna befriends Todd Tolensky, a young mutant without family or home, and following Bruce's example invites him to stay with her when they return to Boston. January 29, Lorna's father dies.
After the funeral, Lorna returns with Sally to Gotham. She, her mother and Todd, move back into the company apartments in the city. The situation with Sally puts too much of a strain on a relationship already fracturing and Lorna and Bruce end their romance. Lorna is considering her next move when Jean-Paul informs her Wanda has given him her three year old daughter from an alternate timeline. Bewildered and overwhelmed, she nonetheless jumps into motherhood and starts making a renewed effort to move to New York.

Lorna and Katie
John helps Lorna, Todd and Katie move into an apartment on the Upper East Side. Soon after moving, a fanatical follower of Magneto threatens Lorna and Katie and John is assigned as Katie's bodyguard.

John and Katie
Katie is a bright and communicative child, but she is almost entirely non-verbal. Concerned, Lorna intends to have her evaluated. She is closer than ever to Jean-Paul and Kara, and in an odd twist of fate (and though hardly over Bruce, or even Alex) begins dating movie star Orlando Bloom.

Lorna and Orlando make the tabloids.
When the Brotherhood escape prison, Lorna breaks all ties with John and moves herself, Katie and Todd in with Harry and Kara. Within a week John is attacked by Toad and presumed dead. Devastated, Sally and then Terry and her three legged dog join the Osborn household. Days later Jean-Paul's boyfriend, Piotr, is lost in space and time by his younger sister. Lorna brings Illyana to the Osborn home as well. Driven to their breaking point, Lorna and all her friends start to fall apart.
Lorna's close friend Kara loses touch with reality and requires hospitalization. The rest of the household suffer in her absence and Lorna becomes overwhelmed. After an accidental overdose Bruce convinces her to take her daughter and move in with her mother. She leaves Todd behind and feeling abandoned and betrayed he steals from the Osborns and runs with Illyana to Las Vegas. Harry, hyped up on Oscorp drugs and pushed to the limits of his patience, follows and the two battle. Knowing Todd only wanted her attention, Lorna blames herself for the fight and determines to make amends - while still trying to stick to her promise to take care of herself and her own business rather than involving herself in everyone else's. Wanting to focus on her children and her career, Lorna ends her relationship with Orlando.
The constant dramas begin to abate. Kara returns home, Sally moves in with her Great Aunt and Uncle, Jean-Paul tentatively starts to explore dating possibilities, and slowly life moves on. Though she realises everyone needs their space, Lorna begins to feel isolated from her friends and very lonely. She reaches out to Henry Hellrung in his own time of need and the two fall into an uncertain but strangely close relationship.

Lorna and Henry
John reappears explaining his death was faked but he is in fact dying. Determined to keep her daughter from knowing anything about it and desperate to get away from the seemingly never-ending chaos, Lorna impulsively moves in with her new boyfriend, Henry - relocating cross-country, transferring to a new branch in her job and a new school for her PhD. Most of her friends back home react poorly but Lorna is adamant it is the only way to regain any control over her life.

Dr. Claudia Grace Lesser
In California, Lorna begins therapy with Dr. Lesser, employs a nanny from Colombia as part of Henry's teammate's charity organization to watch after Katie and begins work at Wayne, L.A. Unable to reconcile with Todd but wanting to help at risk mutant young people she makes plans with Bruce to create a new foundation. Named after the late Jay Guthrie, the board consists of Lorna, Bruce, Tony Stark, Harry Osborn and Dr. Hank McCoy. This grouping sparks some controversy as does the fact that Lorna's close friend Jean-Paul is starting his own shelter for mutant runaways along with the newly healed John (Pyro). These events cause some friction, but happy in California and in her relationship with Henry, and believing she is making positive changes in her life, Lorna presses on.

Henry and Lorna at the Demeter
Lorna settles into life in L.A.; she works part-time with a group of particle physicists, attends UC Berkley, finds a local mutant shelter to take over with her Foundation, and signs on to be a reserve super hero. All these activities put some strain on relationships outside of her housemates, particularly when she misses Adhra Osborn's first birthday party to help The Order save the day in San Francisco. Frictions occur between friends as all her relationships -- from Kara and JP to Bruce and Tony, start to shift under her attempts to build her own self-worth; but they only succeed in making Lorna more determined to prove herself.

Polaris and Anthem
As her own life settles, relationships shift around her: Jean-Paul starts a polygamous relationship with John and Doug; Lorna's mother, Elizabeth, enters a romance with her neighbour, Gloria; the Osborns decide to separate for a time; Jean leaves to find herself and Tony and Steve get married.
As the end of the year approaches everything falls apart -- Norman Osborn, thought to be dead, replaces Tony Stark as head of SHIELD. Incensed, Lorna immediately resigns and moves herself and Katie out of the Demeter, putting a strain on her relationship with Henry. Her project with Wayne is approved on the condition that she work out of the main office so she moves back cross-country to Gotham. Harry and Kara are already living there and Henry follows her, having no loyalty to a SHIELD without Stark in charge. Things become strained between Sally and everyone now in Gotham as she joins HAMMER (formerly SHIELD).
2009
Lorna begins work at her office in Gotham. She contacts Alex hoping he will agree to be introduced to Katie. The two tentatively renew their friendship and begin to make plans for a meet up with Katie.
Lorna meets a young man, Jeremy Moore, new to Gotham and with an interest in science. She invites him to Wayne and helps him get an internship in the Biology department. Meanwhile, the frictions between herself and Sally explode and Lorna worries they will never be reconciled.

Henry proposes and Lorna accepts. She starts to plan a New Years Eve wedding.
