History: Katie was born to Alex and Lorna Summers is an alternate universe created by Lorna's older sister, the reality-warping Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff. She was born in Hawaii and lived most of her three years on a boat with her scientist parents. Katie was a happy, if lonely, child who loved the water. When her universe collapsed, Katie was rescued by her aunt and placed in a static chaos bubble between the fabric of the universes. Wanda intended to merge Katie with a child born to Alex and Lorna in the prime timeline but when their marriage crumbled she realised she could no longer maintain the bubbleverse and brought Katie to Lorna's friend, Jean-Paul.

While in the bubbleverse Katie visited Lorna in her dreams; when Jean-Paul brought the girl to Lorna they recognised each other immediately. Lorna chose to raise the girl as her own and alone. Alex was told of the girl's existence and eventually asked to meet her.

Fictional History: Katie was born to X-Men Alex Summers and Lorna Dane; fearing for her daughter's safety from Magneto and his Brotherhood, Lorna hid the pregnancy and the child. When the Brotherhood were captured she brought the girl, now three, to live with her. In between leaving the girl in protective custody and taking her back, Lorna's mentally ill sister Wanda found her and took her to raise her herself. Though Magneto has since escaped prison, Lorna has determined the child is safer with her. Alex is slowly becoming a larger part of her life.

Personality: Katie is bright, outgoing and affectionate. Like all young children she is curious and likes to test her boundaries. She suffers from selective mutism, but after moving to L.A. made a great deal of progress; while still quiet, she is only non-verbal with strangers.

Interests: the ocean, fish, ballet, gymnastics, Disney Princesses

Currently: Katie is adapting to life in Gotham. It is practically the polar opposite to her former life but she is with her mother and the man who will be her stepfather and feels secure. Evan Osborn is her closest friend. She is enrolled in morning preschool, gymnastics, pottery and music classes.

Ana Ospino Macias, 20, has come to America from Colombia to make a better life for herself. She applied to the program run by Magdalena's South American based non-profit organization the day she turned 18 and she's been working in her home country for two and a half years. But she has been waiting for an opportunity to work in the United States so she may pursue her education. She wants to go to university to study teaching. She will then return to Colombia and with Magdalena's continued support build a school. Ana is fluent in English as well as Spanish and taught beginner ballet for part of the time she worked with the charity. She's bright and compassionate; Maggie says she comes highly recommended.
